. . . . .
So, I've become the greatest klutz this side of the planet (or maybe the entire universe). After this picture was taken, I took a step back, lost my balance, and almost fell on my butt.
I had little accidents like that the entire time we were in Beijing -- slipping on floors, tripping on stairs or steps, dropping drinks from my tray, and falling on sidewalks. But the accident I will never forget happened at the Great Wall. And no, I did not tumble off the walls, thank you very much. The accident happened at the end of the sled (Toboggan) ride. My right foot hit the sled control when I got off the Toboggan, and to keep myself from falling, I grabbed the controls with my right hand. Our guide, Jamie, was worried I dislocated my bones. But it was just a case of pulled muscles. It hurt so bad, I was on the verge of tears and thought I was going to pass out.
My shoulder was throbbing with pain, I couldn't move my arm, my legs were shaking. My friends came to my rescue, of course. They are the sweetest people. They massaged my arm and volunteered to carry my things. I took a pain reliever hoping the pain would abate a little. And it did, thankfully.
Despite my little accidents, I totally enjoyed the trip. I would certainly love to go back. There are still so many places to see in Beijing and so much shopping to do. *grin* My friends and I had a wonderful time. I will be sharing stories over my at travel blog soon.
Posted some images of our visit to the Forbidden City over at Facebook.
. . . . .
Next stop: Vietnam. And already crossing my fingers I won't fall off a motorcycle. :D
